ICIA launches an awareness video for AI accessible to everyone
As artificial intelligence accelerates, one question grows increasingly urgent: how can we enable everyone to understand, use, and master the tools that are already reshaping our daily lives?
This is the question addressed by the new awareness video from the Collective Institute of AI (ICIA), with a clear message: artificial intelligence must not become a vector of exclusion. It can, and must, be a collective opportunity.
The fear of a train leaving without us
The video draws on a deliberately universal metaphor: the platform. A technological train is moving forward. For many, the dominant feeling is watching it depart without being able to board, lacking the keys to understand its codes, its rules, its language.
This concern is neither irrational nor marginal. It reflects a tangible reality: AI is evolving at a pace that widens the gap between those who have the tools to grasp it and those who remain excluded. A divide that, without collective action, risks becoming a lasting fracture.
Acculturation over expertise
ICIA's ambition is not to train engineers. It is to make AI intelligible — for younger generations first, but also for everyone kept at a distance by perceived complexity.
Understanding artificial intelligence is not simply learning to use a tool. It is grasping how it works, identifying its limits and biases, measuring its social, economic, and ethical impacts. It is, above all, developing the ability to dialogue with these technologies rather than simply undergo them.
This massive, accessible, and concrete acculturation is at the heart of ICIA's mission.
AI as a collective choice
The video reminds us of a truth often obscured in discussions about AI: these systems do not emerge from nowhere. They learn from data, behaviors, and human intentions. They are, in this sense, a reflection of our collective choices.
The question is not limited to "what can AI do?" It is also, and perhaps above all: "what kind of world do we want to build with it?"
An inclusive AI or a reinforced divide
A multi-speed artificial intelligence would not be neutral. It would be an aggravation, deepening existing inequalities between regions, generations, and social groups.
Conversely, a shared culture of AI — widespread, democratized, rooted in everyday use — can turn every individual into an actor in this revolution rather than a spectator.
This is the conviction that drives ICIA: mastering the use of AI is becoming a fundamental 21st-century skill, on par with reading, writing, or navigating the web.
Boarding the train
The train is moving. It will not stop.
The challenge now is to enable as many people as possible to board, fully informed, with the tools to understand, question, and shape what artificial intelligence will become.
This is the meaning of this video. This is ICIA's mission.
